BIO:
Asana is a Cameroonian American filmmaker based in New Orleans. Lino’s work often explores and celebrates themes of black dynamism, identity, community, and transnationalism. As an immigrant, he wants to tell stories about finding connections in unfamiliar places. His work combines film, photography, installations, archive development, and community events to tell rich, immersive stories.

Meet the unheralded black chefs of New Orleans. Creole Feast: Legacy tells their story, reframing the story of American culinary tradition by exploring the ingenious contribution of black cooks, who brought traditional food-ways from West Africa to the New World and created the iconic, enduring Creole cuisine.
