ElderShare

The Sipp Culture Community Farm launched the ElderShare Summer program in 2021 as part of our commitment to supporting the seniors in our community with access to fresh locally sourced produce in Utica, MS.

The ElderShare program is a program for community members ages 60 & up, that live in Utica, Mississippi. This year, we provided twenty-five community members with 5 to 7 lbs of produce every week, for eight weeks over the course of the summer.

This year’s EldersShares were sponsored by supporters of Sipp Culture Community farm. Community members that qualified signed up through our CSA administrator. The ElderShare will continue in the fall for another eight-week stretch.

The ElderShare program is part of the Small Farm Apprentice program. The SFA program provides hands-on training to young aspiring farmers interested in small farm sustainable food production. This is the first year for both programs.
