Hollerin Space has conducted public space takeovers, walks, coumbites, hush harbors, and curated impromptu happenings. muthi reed and Angela Davis Johnson are creative partners in Hollerin Space (2015). muthi reed is a griot and media maker from Philadelphia, living bi regional in New Orleans and Philadelphia. Angela Davis Johnson renders symbols through paint, song, and movement and is a lifelong sojourner from Arkansas Delta. Hollerin Space is our collective culture where we perform and channel personhood through fellowship. We live, work and travel as Afropolitan soul shakers.

PROJECT:

HOLD ON: sweet smoke and the intimacy of forgetting: LUXradio channel ritualizes a controlled burning of family home and land in Lambrook, a once thriving rural Black community in the Arkansas Delta. Utilizing ritual, film, and oral histories, this work seeks to reclaim memory and process the effects of dispossession. sweet smoke is a site in HOLD ON: LUXradio, a multi-modal multi location deconstructed radio performance work created by Hollerin Space (Angela Davis Johnson + muthi reed).
