
We are looking for a professional Line Cook to work alongside our Head Cook’s specifications and guidelines. The successful candidate will employ its culinary and managerial skills in order to play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our customers’ satisfaction. This position will entail preparation of food for both catered events, and also execution of a restaurant style menu on the days selected for retail service.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of food and beverage for the catered and dining menus for events and daily food service. You will work closely with the Lead Cook and Facilities Manager to ensure all culinary needs are met to satisfaction.
- Produce high quality plated or catered dishes, both design and taste wise.
- Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards.
- Fill in for the Lead Cooking planning and directing food preparation when necessary.
- Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situation.
- Have knowledge of supply levels to aid in stocking inventory appropriately.
- Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards.
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
Requirements and skills
- Hands-on experience as a Line Cook
- Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
- Excellent record of kitchen and staff management
- Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions
- Familiar with industry’s best practices
- Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS) is a plus
- Credentials in health and safety training (ServSafe Food Manager, ServSafe Food Handler, or other accredited training recognized by the State of Mississippi) is a plus
- Willingness to obtain Food Safety certification if not yet achieved.
