
We are looking for a Dishwasher & Utilities individual to join our kitchen staff and maintain cleanliness around our facility.
The position’s responsibilities include collecting used dishes, plates and utensils, loading washing machines and stacking washed items appropriately. This position will also entail being in charge ensuring a high standard of the overall cleanliness and maintenance of the facility’s interior and exterior appearance in cleanliness. This position may be part of the behind-the-scenes operations, but extremely essential to the smooth operation of the Cultural Center. Note that this role requires working in shifts, including evenings and weekends. Ultimately, you’ll help provide an unforgettable dining experience for our customers.
Responsibilities
- Collect used kitchenware from dining and kitchen areas and load and unload dishwashing machines
- Wash specific items by hand (e.g. wooden cutting boards, large pots and delicate china)
- Store clean dishes, glasses and equipment appropriately. Also to ensure there are always enough clean dishes, glasses and utensils, especially during peak hours
- Maintain cleaning supplies stock (e.g. detergents) and relaying to the FM to place replenishment orders when necessary
- Check dish washing machines and other equipment needed for cleaning for proper operation and promptly report any technical/performance issues to the FM
- Remove garbage regularly and ready for scheduled Thursday pickup
- Being in charge of coordinating with FM for set up of event seating and table arrangement as necessary prior to events. Assist with the breakdown of events by removing furniture, packing up equipment, and restoring the space to its original condition.
- Coordinating with FM and Kitchen staff to ensure event related requirements such as trash receptacles are in place for scheduled events.
- Ensuring proper cleanliness of restroom areas regularly and replenishment of supplies needed
- Ensuring general cleanliness of the kitchen area, and general area floors.
Requirements and skills
- Work experience as a Dishwasher or Facility utilities personnel.
- Ability to follow instructions and help with various tasks, as needed
- Time management skills and flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Attention and strong commitment to detail and sanitation rules
- Hands-on experience with industrial washing machines is a plus
- High school diploma is a plus
