The Mississippi Center for Cultural Production (Sipp Culture) exists to support groups and individuals working to achieve social, economic, and cultural transformation toward long-term sustainability. We achieve this through the creation and presentation of arts, culture, and through using food (agriculture) and story to leverage community transformation and shift the material condition of Southern rural people.

OVERVIEW
The Greenhouse Manager is responsible for the daily operations of an 1800 sq ft commercial greenhouse, overseeing the propagation, cultivation, and harvesting and distribution of plants. This role involves managing the growing environment, ensuring plant health, and supervising a team of workers. The Greenhouse Manager is key in optimizing processes, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. This position is one of the leadership positions of the Sipp Culture Community Farm in Utica, MS.

The Sipp Culture Community Farm is located in the heart of Utica, Mississippi on a lush 17 acre parcel of land. The farm has approximately 1.5 acres in production on a permanent raised row structure and drip line irrigation. The property also has an 1800 square foot commercial greenhouse where we start plants from seeds. We currently grow seedlings and transplants for several farms throughout the Mississippi Delta.

The farm is a diversified operation that is based on sustainable practices. The farm is on an organic (seeking certification), no-till, bio-intensive system. This farm system encourages growers to disturb the soil as little as possible, increase the soil’s organic matter, rotate crops, compost waste, and diversify their farming operation. The goal of the farm is to have a closed loop system that goes from seed to soil.
